The Power of App sites

Well, you might be wondering at this term “App site”, because it surely sounds something out of the lot for the first time. Many of the folks are confused with app site and Apple Inc’s website, and consider both to be one and the same.

However, in reality sometimes the Apple’s official website is sometimes abbreviated as App site just by the tech geeks, and in general an app site, refers to a website, which deals with tremendous amounts of applications, which may be either download on a free basis, or for a premium price.

An app site essentially differs from a normal website in several aspects, amongst which, the monthly bandwidth, traffic, security issues, and response time of the site, are the prominent ones.

The concept of an app site has come to existence only sometime back, especially with the popularity of the App store, which has become so famous within an year or so, that Apple is now eyeing the 1 billionth app download in the next few months. Already, the count of download apps from the app store has crossed the 500million mark.

Therefore, as a result several other big names in the market such as Microsoft, Nokia, Blackberry/UIM, Android and the likes of them, have decided to adopt the concept of building a powerful app site, to attract the customer-base, and generate additional repetitive revenues from these cool apps, rather than just concentrating on the one-time sale of cell phones alone.

No wonder, most of the big shots in the market have realized that survival is difficult without a good app site, and probably in this recession-hit economy, it is all the more difficult to generate too much revenues only from one-time sale. While normal sales strategies fetch one time returns through daily/monthly, on the other hand, an app site generates handsome revenues on a regular basis. Moreover, the chances are high that those who like the services and other aspects of a good app site may become loyal customers for good.

The point to be noted here is that an efficient app site is capable of attracting the same customer over and again, for newer app downloads, while a normal website may be able to attract a particular customer only once or probably twice in few months or even years.
